Loyd Weaver Conard, age 83, of Middleville passed away May 20, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Loyd was born March 11, 1935, the son of Jesse and Naomi (Wehr) Conard. Loyd married the former Garnet Koons at the Michigan State University Chapel on September 8, 1956. They were blessed with three children: Dawn (Clifton) Drumm, Denise (Joseph) Seeber, and Wayne (Ann) Conard, the grandchildren who filled his life with love and laughter: Amy, Hannah, Nathan, Michael (Nicole), Christina, Elizabeth, Wesley, and Patrick (Sarah). Loyd graduated from Leslie High School and attended the General Motors Institute, later earning his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Michigan State University. Loyd was a teacher and he proudly served in the National Guard. He enjoyed flying his airplane, traveling, and Loyd was also very active in area Masonic Lodges. Loyd had a good sense of humor and loved to tell stories that made people laugh. Loyd's family will receive friends Tuesday, 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Wednesday, May 23, 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Beeler-Gores Funeral Home where his funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Pastor Tod Clark officiating. Burial will take place in Irving Cemetery. Memorial contributions to a charity of one's choice will be appreciated.
