Mary Ellen Bowman (Sharp), 84 of Delton, passed away May 12, 2018 at Thornapple Manor in Hastings after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Mary was born April 24, 1934, the daughter of Winfred Alexander and Oneita Marie (Ketchum) Sharp of Augusta and graduated from Kellogg Agricultural High School. On June 5, 1954, she married Charles W. Bowman in Battle Creek. An employee of Kellogg’s in the Personnel Department, Mary stayed at home for several years to raise five children. She later worked at Gull Lake Schools and retired after serving many years as Ross Township Clerk. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Charles on June 19, 2017, a sister: Bonnie (James) Copher, and an infant granddaughter: Katelyn Bowman. Mary is survived by her children: Laurie (Douglas) Schneider of Augusta, Eric (Amy) Bowman of Delton, Rebecca (Dana) Beauchamp of Richland, Victoria (Brian) Scott of Richland, and Barry (Cheryl) Bowman of Parchment, a sister Ruth Neider of Florida, grandchildren: Jennifer(Jen Wyatt) Schneider, Harrison (Marsha) Schneider, Jake (Katie) Bowman, Kara (Eric) Layman, Connie (Steven) Mollison, Karen (Nathan) Morrissey, Raymond (Megan) Beauchamp, Lena Hall-Gregg, Craig Gould, and Brandon Bowman, great grandchildren: Alison and Cody Wickham, Ryan Schneider, Henry and Benjamin Bowman, Catherine, Steven, Eva and Jessica Mollison, Oliver and Charles Morrissey, Dexter Beauchamp, and Josiah and Elyzabeth Gould. Mary’s family will receive friends Friday, May 18, 2018, 10:00- 11:00 AM at the Williams Gores Funeral Home, Delton, where her funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am, Pastor Dan Mack of First Wesleyan Church of Battle Creek officiating. Private interment will take place in Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
