Finally!

I have always known of and relied on my Dad's vast knowledge of seemingly, everything! I always wondered and asked myself, "geez, what doesn't he know". Then I moved to Michigan and started to get to know my Dad all over again. He was a sober, kinder and more understanding than the person I grew up with.

I bought a house that needed tons of work and of course he didn't hink I could do it (he just didn't know me well yet). He came and helped me and did all my wiring and installed all my doors for me. Well, me being the obsessive person I am, I made drawing for everything before I started so I could plan out the materials and such. I showed him my drawings for all my projects before I started just to see if he had a better way to do it. Each time I would say, "hold on Dad, I have a drawing", he would roll his eyes and scoff at me.

Well it came time to install the garbage disposal and of course I showed him my drawing. He looked at it and said, "you got two sinks dummy, you forgot the plumbing for the other one". I smile as big as could be and never said a word. When he left I ran around, jumped up and down and screamed, "FINALLY, I KNOW SOMETHING HE DOESN'T". Yes, I knew that the garbage disposal got plumbed into the sink and he didn't. Apparently he thought it was bolted or screwed into the cabinet and got emptied once in a while.

So I will always remember this day and feel like I am a little bit as smart as him and will never be as smart as him.
