Douglas Harold Myers, age 78, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017 in Cadillac. Douglas was born September 30, 1938 in Battle Creek, the son of Harold and Margariet (Miller) Myers. A veteran, Doug proudly served in the US Army, was a Police Officer for the city of Battle Creek for many years, and then was employed at Kellogg’s where retired after twenty-eight years of loyal service. Doug loved fishing, hunting and camping and he was always willing to help someone in need. Doug was loved by many people and will be greatly missed. He was survived his wife of thirty-one years, Beverly Jane (Jackway) Myers; a daughter, Tammy (Keith) Howard; a son, Kurt Myers; a stepdaughter, Joann (Jim) Tripp; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; a sister, Ethel (Wayne) Smith; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Esther Myers, David Harvath, Bill (Nancy) Harvath, and Naomi McCaleb; and several nieces and nephews. Doug’s family will receive friends, Wednesday, February 15, 2017, 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the Williams-Gores Funeral Home, Delton. A graveside service with military honors will be conducted, Wednesday, February 15, 2017, 2:30 PM, at East Hickory Corners Cemetery, Pastor Jeff Worden officiating.
