Gerald D. Norris “Butch” passed away at home February 5, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. Butch was born January 11, 1945 in Hastings; the son of Lynden and Ilah (Chaffee) Norris. A millwright, Butch was a member of the Millwright Local Union 1102, and he also owned his own farm. Butch enjoyed farming and hunting, and he will be remembered as a family man. On July 25, 2003, Butch married Helen Leinaar, who survives. Butch is also survived by children: Jody (Greg) May and Dan (Ronda) Norris, stepchildren: Wendee (Adam) Wendt and Don (Tammy) Bender, brothers: Gene (Lois) Norris, Steve (Terri Bowman) Norris, and Stanley (Karen) Norris, sisters: Eileen (Charlie Hamblin) Bonar and Janet (Robert) Elwell, sixteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren with three on the way, and several nieces and nephews. Butch was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Larry Norris and infant brothers: Vern and Verlyn. Butch’s family will receive friends Sunday, 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Williams-Gores Funeral Home, Delton. Butch’s funeral service will be conducted Monday, February 8, 2016 at 11:00 AM, at Hickory Corners Bible Church, Pastor Jeff Worden, officiating. Burial will take place in Cedar Creek Cemetery.
